Irene C. Pendleton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 89 of Marengo, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 18, 1936, in Essex, to the late Frank E. and Blanche S. (Stoner) Lindley.
Irene was a 1954 graduate of Richwood High School. She was a homemaker all her life, she dedicated herself to raising her five children and caring for her family, which was most important to her. Irene's legacy of love and devotion will live on through her children and family, and they will forever treasure the memories she created with them.
On March 16, 1955, Irene married the love of her life Edward "Ed" Pendleton; he survives in Marengo.
In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by their five children: Dorenda Melton of PA, Marla O'Brien of SC, Roger Duane Pendleton of IN, Cynthia Morrow of Marengo and LaMia Cooke of Delaware; eight grand children and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her siblings: Alvin Lindley, Leo (Vernie) Lindley and Cleo (Vonie) Slemmons.
Friends may call on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 11:30 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Ashley Cemetery.
