Harold Christian Ruth

Harold Ruth, age 83 of Cardington died Monday, April 25, 2022, at Woodside Village Care Center. He was born on May 13, 1938, to Christian and Elnora (Retterer) Ruth who preceded him in death.

Harold was a 1956 graduate of Cardington Lincoln High School. After high school Harold joined the U.S. Army. Harold had worked for Fairfield, Huber, and Columbus Coated Fabrics as an Engineer and was a lifelong farmer. He had most recently worked at Carousel's and Carvings in Marion.

Harold was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening bee keeping, and fixing things, there wasn't much he couldn't put back together. Harold was a member of the Marionairs Barbershop. He most of all loved working around the farm.

On July 14,1962, Harold married Geri Ann (Kramer) in Cardington, she survives in Cardington.

In addition to his wife Geri, Harold is survived by his children: Sherri Swinson of Marion, Shelley Ruth of Cardington, Steve Ruth of Caledonia, Shannon (David) Bundy of Marion, Sarita Ruth of Marion, and Tuan (Ann) Nguyen of Utah; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter Sandi Ruth, his brother Richard Ruth, and his sister Lucille Trumbo.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Mel Felder officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
