Harold A. Coder, age 76 of Cardington, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Riverside Hospital. He was born on April 11, 1950, in Mount Gilead, to the late Azle A. and Thelma T. (Rice) Coder.
Harold was a 1968 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School, after graduation he joined the U.S. Army. Later he worked in construction and was a self-employed Heavy Equipment Operator.
Harold was a proud member of the V.F.W. and AMVETS. He enjoyed horse racing, spending time working on cars, and relaxing with an ice-cold Natty Light. These simple pleasures, along with the friendships and memories they created, brought him great joy throughout his life.
Harold is survived by his children; Kelly (Jason) Carter of Sunbury, Shawn (Tonya) Coder of Cardington and Lisa Coder of Georgia; three grandchildren: Marcie (Kyle), Nicolas (Shyann) and Haylee; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his stepsister Esther Rice.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Glendale Union Cemetery, 105 Glendale Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315; with full military honors.
A celebration of Harold's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM at The Woods Banquet Hall, 6695 County Road 76, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
