George Arthur Ferguson

George A. Ferguson, age 75 of Cardington, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 6, 1944 in Marion to the late George C. and Mildred V. (Mannasmith) Ferguson.

George was a high school graduate and went on to attend some college before finding his way into the work force. He took a job with the Ohio Department of Transportation where he worked his way into a superintendent roll. George worked 52 years for ODOT until his retirement. He was a member at the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and the Knights of Pythian Lodge.

On June 1, 1985 George married Colleen M. (Sawyer) who preceded him in death on December 28, 2011.

George is survived by a son, Bill (Fredrik) Ferguson of Columbus and 5 siblings: Ray (Donna) Ferguson, Jim (Pam) Ferguson, Carl (Carol) Ferguson, Marg Armbruster and Eva Foos.

In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by 3 siblings: David & Rodney Ferguson and Carol Albright.

In keeping with George’s wishing, no public services will be held. Gompf Funeral Service is honored to have been chosen to handle George’s arrangements.
