Frederick Wenger Obituary

Frederick R. Wenger, age 93, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Fred was born on March 3, 1928, in Lundy, Ohio to Raymond and Edith (Brown) Wenger who preceded him in death.

Fred was a 1946 graduate of Broadway High School. After high school he served Honorably in the United States Army. He was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart by General Ridgway.

Fred worked at Ranco Corporation in Delaware, Ohio for 37 years as a Tool and Die maker. He was a member of Gilead Friends Church as well as a member of Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.

On August 20, 1950, Fred married Grace (Casto) in Mount Gilead, Ohio. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. Grace preceded him in death on December 21, 2005. On November 21, 2007, Fred married Marilyn (Minor) in Morrow County, and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2020.

Fred is survived by his children Tim (Sarah) Wenger of Columbus, Ohio, Reverend Dr. Jerry (Robin) Wenger of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Katherine (Keith) McMillan of Mount Vernon, Ohio; grandchildren Sean, Brian, Jessica, Kara, Seth, Rachel and Rebecca; seven great grandchildren; and sister Betty Clark.

Fred was preceded in death by sisters Jean Sherborne, Laura Robinson, Mary Wenger and brothers John, George and Charles Wenger and by granddaughter Jamie Doyle Wenger.
