Eunice M. Klinefelter, age 101 of Cardington died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Woodside Village Care Center in Mt. Gilead. She was born on August 15, 1917 to the late Chester A. and Dorothy R. (Brenizer) Carpenter in Ashley.
Eunice was a 1933 graduate of Fulton High School as the Valedictorian of her class and then again in 1934 from Cardington High School as the Salutatorian. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her children and sharing her home with 5 foster children.
Eunice was a member of the Marion Salem United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there from 1940-2000. She had spent 50 years serving on the Morrow County Election Committee. Eunice loved playing cards regardless of the game type and she really enjoyed playing dominos as well.
On May 5, 1940, Eunice married Emerson H. Klinefelter at their home in Cardington and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2007.
Eunice is survived by 2 children: Roger (Vicky) Klinefelter of Cardington and Rebecca (Lynn) Heimlich of Kentucky; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eunice was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Donald, Wesley, Harry, Frank, Lloyd, Howard “Wayne” Carpenter and a great-grandson Samuel Joseph Johnson.

Calling will be held from 10:00 to 11:00am on Friday August 24, 2018 with the Funeral service immediately following at Marion Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Beth Mansperger and Reverend Jim VanMeter officiating; 1640 Salem Rd, Caledonia, OH 43314. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
