Emmet C. Price age 87 of Marion passed away Saturday August 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on September 14, 1937, to Emmet S. and Fleecie (Countes) Price who preceded him in death.
Emmet was a 1956 graduate of Marengo High School. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1960. Many will remember Emmet from the Sunoco gas station that he operated or at TruValue in Mt. Gilead. He retired from the Whirlpool Corporation after more than 30 years of service.
Emmet played and loved all sports and played many years on an adult softball team in Fredericktown. He was honored to be voted into the Highland High School Sports Hall of Fame. Emmet was a great mechanic. He enjoyed being outdoors. Emmet was a member of the Calvery Bible Baptist Church in Marion and enjoyed assisting with their prison ministry.
On December 28, 1988, in Virginia, Emmet married the former C. Jean Kennard, and she survives in Marion.
In addition to his wife, Emmet is survived by his children, Shirron Young of Ashley, Natalie (Jesse) Worcester of Caledonia, and Veronica (Christopher) Pearl of Cardington; step-children, Scott (Angie) Sutton of Ocala, FL., and John Sutton of Marysville; sister, Betty Hays and brothers Mack and Roger (Carolyn) Price.
In addition to his parents, Emmet and Fleecie Price. he was preceded in death by sisters Sharon Mosher and Lillian Hayes, brothers, Jimmie and Ira "Bud" Price; half-brothers Walter and John Hay
Friends may call on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at the Calvery Baptist Church, 1419 Linn-Hipsher Road, Marion from 9:00AM until the start of the funeral service at 11:00AM. Pastors Floyd Radebaugh and Ken Wert will officiate. Following the funeral service, the burial will take place in the Marengo Cemetery at 2:30PM with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with the final expenses.
