Eilene Esther (Ruehrmund) Heimlich

Eilene E. Heimlich, age 87 of Cardington died, Wednesday November 3, 2021, at her home. She was born on January 16, 1934, to Carl and Inez (Rengert) Ruehrmund who preceded her in death.

Eilene was a 1952 graduate of Cardington High School. Over the years she worked at the Court House, Heimlich's Market, Whipple's, and Peoples Bank. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran "Windfall" Church. Eilene enjoyed crocheting and reading. She loved her flowers. Eilene took pride in taking care of her children.

On February 28, 1952, she married Junior Heimlich at the Windfall Lutheran Church, and he survives in Cardington.

Eilene is survived by her children: Teresa (Steve) Schuman of Mount Gilead and Brett (Barbara) Heimlich of Mansfield; her brother, James Ruehrmund, sister, Lucille Ebert; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Eilene was preceded in death by a sister Helen Schindler, and her grandson, Scott Heimlich.

A memorial service for Eilene will be held at the St. John's Windfall Church on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Adam Sornchai officiating.
