Edward "Ed" Roger Pendleton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, age 93 of Marengo, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born on September 29, 1931, in Sparta, Ohio to the late Frederick E. and Mildred M. (Holt) Pendleton.
Ed had worked at Ranco for over 40 years as a tool and die maker. After retirement, he worked at both Amana and Ohio Steel.
Ed enjoyed the hobby of being a gun smith; he would spend hours building muzzleloaders. He liked to hunt deer and tinker with clocks, chainsaws and garden tractors. Ed loved going on camping trips with his family.
On March 16, 1955, Ed married the love of his life, Irene Claudette (Lindley); she preceded him in death on April 3, 2025. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage.
Ed is survived by his and Irene's children: Dorenda Melton of PA, Marla O'Brien of SC, Roger Duane Pendleton of IN, Cynthia Morrow of Marengo, and LaMia Cooke of Delaware; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his brother John (Karen) Pendleton of Ashley.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Ed is preceded in death by brothers Dale Pendleton and Gene Pendleton and sister Peggy Church.
Friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 11:30 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM, at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315, with Chaplain Tom Schwind officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Ashley Cemetery.
