Earl "Wes" Wesley Getter

Earl W. Getter II, age 62 of Marion passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at his home.  He was born on November 20, 1960, in Zanesville to the late Earl E. Getter Sr. and LaVonne R. (Hultgruen) Getter.

On December 16, 1983, Wes married Sheilah (Stevens) in Orlando, Florida. She survives in Marion.

Wes had worked for Reese Auto Sales in Marion and Upper Sandusky as an Auto Mechanic for several years.

In addition to his wife Sheilah, Wes is survived by his children: Kiel Getter of Galion, Marketa Getter of Marion, and Jessica Getter of Marion; seven grandchildren: Nathaniel, Destiny, Johnnie, Annalese, Anastasia, Damion, and Bre Bre; his siblings Roger (Laurie) Getter of Winston-Salem, NC., and Rita Getter of Mount Gilead.

In addition to his parents, Earl Sr. and LaVonne, Wes was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Jo, Esther, Bruce, Karl, and Lisa Marie; as well as his Cocker Spaniels, who he loved just like his own children: Sassy nicknamed Sassy frass, Sadie nicknamed Tater Tot, Sandy nicknamed Chunky Poo and Suzy nicknamed Cow.

Friends may call on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, with funeral service directly following at 1:30 pm with Celebrant LeAnne Gompf officiating.  Following the service, the burial will take place in the Marion Cemetery.

The family has requested that anyone coming to the services on Friday should wear casual clothing. Wes would encourage people to wear jeans and anything Superman.
