Earl W. Conrad, Vietnam Veteran age 79 of Mount Gilead, passed away on April 18, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1946, in Columbus to the late Charles C. and Ruth M. (McGinnis) Conrad.
Earl built a strong and dependable career as a semi-truck driver, spending many years on the road. He took pride in his work with J.B. Hunt Transport Services, where his dedication and reliability made him a valued part of the team. Through long hours and countless miles, he demonstrated a steady work ethic and a commitment to providing for his family
Earl proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. His time in service reflected courage, sacrifice, and a deep sense of duty.
Earl found great peace in the outdoors, especially when he was out fishing. Whether casting a line in a quiet pond or along a favorite stretch of river, he enjoyed the calm and simplicity those moments brought. Being outside wasn't just a pastime for him, it was where he felt most at home and content.
On October 14, 1969, in Columbus Earl married Christine M. Flowers and she survives in Cardington.
Left to cherish Earl memory are two children: Joe Conrad and daughter Jeannine "Nina" Conrad; five grandchildren: Joslyn (Brandon) Harris, Joe Jr., Mikayla (Shakara), McKenzie (Sean Preston), and Willie; seven great-grandchildren: Brandon Jr., Braydon, Braelynn, Brenleigh, Jaxon, Ella, Kylee; as well as a very special longtime friend, Diann Flowers.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a son, Joshua William Steven Conrad.
