Earl J Armstrong, age 69 of Fulton died on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Wyndmoor Nursing Home of Marion. He was born on August 10, 1952, in Parkersburg, WV to the late Joseph K. and Emily L. (Feick) Armstrong.
Earl was a 1971 graduate of Highland High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. Over the span of his life Earl worked in different fields: he was a mason for over 20 years, had worked as a lineman for Quality Tower Service, was a painter and had worked as a machinist.
In his free time, Earl enjoyed tinkering on tractors and could fix almost every tractor he worked on. He was a licensed Jockey and loved training racehorses. Earl was also known in Fulton as the guy who would mow yards and plow driveways at no charge, he just enjoyed helping other people out if he could. Earl was also a member of the Jenkins-Vaugh Post #97 in Cardington.
Earl is survived by 4 siblings: Sister, Nan Ostrom, Cardington, brother, Darrell (Barb) Armstrong, Delaware, sister, Emily (David) Westfield, Apple Valley, and brother, William Armstrong, Mt. Gilead as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Earl was preceded in death by 1 sister, Connie Criswell.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Fulton Cemetery, where full military honors will be observed.
