Doris was escorted into heaven by her husband of 57 years, James T. Cox, daughter Linda Sue (Cox) Davidson, 51, along with her parents RoseBelle (Clevenger) Stapleton, and Martin L. Stapleton. Doris was born in Westerville, Ohio 7/10/1934.
Her favorite role in life was being a wife, mother, friend, and most importantly, strengthening her relationship with the Lord.
A most loving and humble matriarch, she was an avid youth promoter, sang with the choir, taught Sunday School, volunteered with summer camp, cleaned the church, and was a proud tissue donor.
Doris was a member of Edison Enterprise Baptist Church for 40+ years and a member of Hayden Enterprise Baptist Church prior.
Doris was loved by everyone. She could look directly into your soul and love you unconditionally. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
Survived by son Gary L Cox (Donna), daughter Brenda K Cox-McCroskey, son-in-law Roger Davidson, grandsons James (Tommy) Cox, and Adam S Cox, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
We were blessed with Doris’s presence for 91 years.
Pastor Ed Colegrove will lead A Celebration of Life 12/5/2025 at 1 p.m. at the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church, Edison, Ohio, followed by a graveside service and fellowship at the church.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Edison Enterprise Baptist Church Food Bank. 3035 State Route 95, Edison, Ohio 43320.
