Donna J. Sexton, age 71 of Mount Gilead, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 8:15pm. She was born on August 9, 1954, in Columbus to the late Howard W. Sexton and Emily "Marie" (Hatten) White.
Donna was a loving and family-oriented woman, known for her incredible cooking skills, love for kid rock, being a huge Ohio state fan, and her ability to master any task she set her mind to. A true jack of all trades, Donna's warmth and nurturing spirit made her the heart of the family. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, especially her beloved "punkin," Ashlee. Donna's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and countless cherished memories.
Donna is survived by her children: Shannon Bauer of Cardington and Starlean Sherriff of New Bloomington; her four grandchildren: Ashlee D. Martin, Emily Daniels, Victoria Daniels, and Larissa Bauer; three great-grandchildren Alex, Oliver, and Olivia; and her siblings: Dorthy Sexton of Cardington and Bill and his wife Patti Sexton of Columbus.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her infant son, grandchild Kyla Bauer, grandchild Angel Daniels, brothers Raymond Sexton, Curtis Sexton, Pint Sexton, and Benny Sexton.
Friends may call on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, with the funeral directly following at 12:00 PM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
