Donald "Don" Goble Obituary

Donald "Don" J. Goble, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle age 68 of Cardington passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 27, 1957, to the late Jack D. and Barbara J. (Spradlin) Goble.

Don Goble the man that always welcomed so many into his home has been welcomed home. It is bittersweet to not have this amazing man with us anymore. We celebrate not only his amazing life but the peace he has found in Heaven. We are thankful that his suffering is over and that he is reunited with his Jacks and many other loved ones.

Don was a 1975 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School. He had worked at General Mills and was a farmer. Don was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered and honored for so many things, especially the lives he touched. Don was a family man; he is hero to his kids and grandkids. He loved spending time going to their sporting events and helping with their 4-H projects.

He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, love, appreciativeness, humor, and hard work. He was respected by many not out of expectation or command but because he made the choice to respect those around him. He set a strong example and if you paid attention, you learned a lot.

He was a simple man that enjoyed simple things. Above all he loved being with his family. He enjoyed days on the porch swinging and talking with friends and family. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He also loved his Farmalls tractors and bailing hay.

Once he was asked in a job interview, "how do you define success?" His response was as pure as his soul and true to his beautiful simplicity, "happiness.".

On July 7, 1979, Don married the love of his life, Sheryl (Cox) in Mount Gilead, they spent 46 years of marriage together. Sheryl survives in Cardington.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by their children: Amanda (Dax) Allen of OK, Chad (Amanda Copeland) Goble and Megan (Aaron) Bigelow all of Cardington; five grandchildren: Colson Allen, Emma and Landon Davis, and Blake and Ryker Goble; bonus grandchildren: Preston and Aubrey Brandum; his siblings Randell Goble, Darlene Hacker and Jean Sutherland as well as numerous extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his grandson Jack Allen.
