Obituary


Donald George Clinger, age 92 of Cardington passed away, Saturday April 16, 2022, at Bennington Glen. He was born on May 7, 1929, in Marion to Curtis R. and Florence M. (Snodgrass) Clinger who preceded him in death.

George was a 1947 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School. George worked as a carpenter for his father-in-law, had worked several years at Whetstone Industries, and was a farmer his whole life.

George was a member of Edison Enterprise Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and did a lot of reading in his free time.

George is survived by his children: Vickie (Jim) Ullom of Cardington, Ben (Robin) Clinger of Cardington, and Jim (Rose Mary) Clinger of Cardington; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his two brothers Nelson and Harold Clinger

Friends may call on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Ed Colegrove officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in Bethel Cemetery.
