Donald W. Broadwater Jr., beloved son, father, brother and uncle, age 54 of Mount Gilead passed away Monday, September 2, 2024. He was born on July 23, 1970, in Uniontown, PA. to Donald W. and Shirley A. (Dankle) Broadwater Sr.
Donald was a 1988 graduate of Loyd Star High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi. He had worked for Nucor Steel as a Crane Operator.
Donald loved spending time with his family and cooking. In his free time he enjoyed, boating, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR races and karaoke. Donald was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8054 Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Oliver Lodge 447 in Caledonia, and the York Rite and Marion Commandry Knights Temple # 36 and a Chapter and Council member Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus. Donald was the Past Commander of SALS Post 401.
In addition to his parents, Donald is survived by his children: Dustin (Grace) Broadwater of Cardington, Kaila Broadwater of Richwood; one granddaughter, Elyana Gronbach; his brother David (Maggie) Broadwater of Edison; his girlfriend Lori Hillard of Crestline, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his sister Tammy Broadwater.
Friends may call on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington with a Masonic Service at 5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Caledonia Cemetery.
