David R. Cooper, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, age 86 of Marengo passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 11, 1938, in Columbus to the late Alfred and Alice (Levering) Cooper.
David had owned and operated Ostrander Machinery Rebuilders, he had also worked for Semco Manufacturing and Hildreth Manufacturing. In his early years David was a volunteer for the Scioto Valley Fire Department.
David served in the United States Air Force and was a member of AMVETS Post 102 in Delaware, Ohio.
On February 14, 1997, David married Charlotte May Gardner in Delaware, Ohio, she survives in Marengo.
Left to cherish David's memory are his wife, Charlotte, his sons: David Jr. of Logan, Todd (Cindy) Cooper of Florida and Columbus, Christopher (Jamie) Cooper of Florida, Richard Cain of Marengo, Robert Cain of Marengo, his daughter, Christina (Shawn) Spiers of Marengo; his sisters Sharon Cooper of Westerville and Daralin Squyres of California, his brothers: Jerry (Kathy) Cooper of Columbus and Alfred (Cathy) Cooper of Columbus; his grandchildren: Lauren, Christopher, Alex, Allyson, Stephen, Cailee, Briana, Kylee, Draycen, Koi, Nova, Zac, Genevieve and Richard Jr; special friends Glenn Hunter and Hillary (Kevin) Knight; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister Anna (Libby) Cooper.
