Dale Lewis Sherman

Dale L. Sherman, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at the age of 62. Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Dale was a dedicated individual whose compassion touched the lives of all those who knew him.

Dale was a hardworking man who found joy and fulfillment in his role as a Weights & Measures specialist for the Morrow County Auditor. His commitment to accuracy and fairness earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and community alike. Dale's dedication to his job was unmatched, and his attention to detail ensured that the principles of fairness and equity were upheld.

Dale's love for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies. He found solace in tending to his large garden, taking pride in the fruits of his labor. Additionally, he loved spending time fishing and exploring nature's beauty. Dale's passion for outdoor cooking brought him immense joy, especially when firing up his smoker to create mouthwatering dishes for family and friends to enjoy. One of Dale's favorite pastimes was tinkering on his tractor, finding satisfaction in the journey of working on and improving it.

Outside of work, Dale had a deep love for his family and cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Connie Sherman, his three daughters Samantha (Pat) Moodispaugh, Kristina Sherman, and Victoria (Jeff) Fretz; his grandchildren Raylan Glick, Bryson Fretz, Xavier Fretz, Olivia Fretz, as well as one on the way; his mother Karen Sherman, sister Kathy (Rick) Swendel, and brother Daniel Sherman, as well as by numerous extended family members, friends, and coworkers.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Donald I. Sherman and Brother, Dwayne L. Sherman.

Friends may call to honor and celebrate Dale's life on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, with visitation at Gompf Funeral Service from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chris Umphreys officiating, the burial following immediately in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
