On Saturday, October 19th, Christa Weiss lost her fight against cancer. She has passed on to a better place after being at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Her kindness and generous nature will be sorely missed by all she met, and her humor and laughter will be cherished memories by all who knew her.
Although she is preceded in death by her father, Fred Williamson, and nephew Justin Williamson Stratton, she is survived with a heavy heart by her mother Barbra (Hershner) Williamson and four siblings Mike, Shelly, Tim, and Mark, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She is also mourned and survived by her three biological children Rene, Amanda, and Jerica, as well as the children of her heart Rachell, Matt, and Bill.
Her battle was not fought alone, thanks to her family. All her children who showered her with love and were the source of her happiness. Mike who took her to every chemo as her lucky charm. Shelly who held her hand and helped her be strong through the tough times. Tim who always dropped what he was doing to lend a hand in any way. Mark, her baby brother, with whom she had a special bond.
A special thanks to the friends like the Sam Barton Family and the "crackpot crew" Sue and Denise, for all the small things that made a big difference. We also want to thank everyone who visited or sent cards, messages, and videos. You all made her feel so very special and loved in her final days. It helped her to realize the far-reaching effects of her kindness and good deeds.
As her favorite saying goes, "Rejoice and be Glad! For this is the day the Lord has made." For her memory, we will always be glad.
A Celebration of Life for Christa will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mount Gilead State Park, shelter house #1. The family asks that you come as you are and to bring a dish of food to share if you're able.
In lieu of flowers the family asks a donation to be made in her name to cancer research and women's health services.
Gompf Funeral Service of Cardington is honored to have been chosen to assist the Weiss family with Christina's final wishes and condolences may be expressed at www.gompffh.com.
