Charles Russell Davis

Charles Davis, age 81 of Mt. Vernon, died on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Laurels of Mt. Vernon. He was born on June 29, 1939 in Columbus to the late Charles R. and Mildred M. (Shanks) Davis Sr.

Charles had worked as a welder in the State of Texas. He enjoyed “tinkering” and working on anything that was mechanical. He liked to fish in his spare time as a young man.

Charles is survived by his children, Heather Davis of Texas, Jim Davis of W. Va., and Robert (Beverly) Davis of W. Va.; son-in-law Aaron Roberts; seven grandchildren; siblings, Gale “Art” (Judy) Davis of Marengo and Donna Morgan of TX.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughters, Kathy Marcum and Tammy Roberts.

The funeral service for Charles will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1:00PM in the Marengo Cemetery with Pastor Brendan Kennedy officiating. The Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington is honored to assist the Davis family with Charles funeral services.
