Brenda L. Pickens, beloved life partner, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, age 61 of Cardington passed away December 14, 2025. She was born on December 19, 1963, in Columbus to the late Bernie and Annetta (Spangler) Lane.
Brenda had worked as the secretary for Pickens Construction and then later for American Showa until she retired.
Brenda was a loving and devoted grandmother who cherished spending time with her grandkids, always ready to share her love and wisdom. A passionate caregiver, she devoted much of her life to nurturing and supporting others. Brenda had a wide range of interests, from boating and camping to crafting and thrifting, often seeking out treasures at yard sales. She was a fan of Danielle Steele's novels and found comfort in the pages of her books. One of her favorite places to visit was Amish Country, visiting the local markets to discover handmade goods and enjoying the beauty of the area.
Brenda is survived by her life partner Milton Wiggins, her children: Shannon (Shane) New of Mount Gilead, Shawnna (John) Ioffredo, Richard "Shane" Pickens and Sheenna (Jared) Martin all three of Cardington, thirteen grandchildren; Mason, Caleb, MaKenna, Maci, Wyatt, Brenden, Gaige, Aiden, Madeline, Jaxon, Stevie, Sawyer and Judah; siblings; Bernie Lane of Marion and Barbara Hall of Marysville; her aunts Juanita (Curt) Larrison and Connie Sams; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her four legged companion Kara.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother James Richard Lane II.
Friends may call on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, until the start of the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
