Bonnie Lee (Owens) Beckel

Bonnie L. Beckel, age 89, a former Cardington resident died Sunday March 20, 2022, in Knox Community Hospital. She was born March 2, 1933, in Columbus to the late Samuel M. and Sarah O. (Graham) Owens.

Bonnie was a 1951 graduate of Columbus Central High School. She had worked as the Deputy Clerk of Courts in Morrow County for 20 years before her retirement. Bonnie was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On February 15, 1975, at the St. John Evangelical Reform Church, Bonnie married Rex M. Beckel. After 46 years of marriage, Rex preceded Bonnie in death in 2021.
Bonnie is survived by her children; Richard (Bonnie) Brenneman of Fredericktown, Dixie Brenneman of Edison, and Robin (Jeffrey) Stuttler of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Renee (Bill) Welsh, Gary (Krista) Brenneman, Jeffrey (Katelin) Stuttler, Caleb Stutttler, and Joel Stuttler; great-grandchildren, Isabelle William, Elijah, Charles, and Henry.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Friends may call on Wednesday March 23, 2022, from 12:30PM until the start of the funeral service at 2:00PM at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. in Cardington. Pastor Dr. Steven Dennis will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
