Beverly Naylor Obituary

Beverly J. (Breece) Naylor (known as Maw) passed away December 16, 2022, at her home in Cardington, Ohio, with family at her side. She was blessed to enjoy life for 91 years.

Beverly was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, foster parent, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born on October 19, 1931, in Constantine, Michigan to Mary (Thomas) Breece and Clarence Breece. Beverly was the youngest of five children: two sisters, Wanda, and Maxine, and two brothers Wayland and Lloyd. She and her siblings grew up on a farm which was very plain and had no frills. This is where her love of animals began. Beverly married Don Arden (Ardie) Naylor October 30, 1949, and lived in White Pigeon, Michigan, for 14 years. In 1963 with their three children and pony they packed their belongings in a U-Haul, small horse trailer, and moved to Cardington, Ohio. While making their new home in Cardington, two more children were added to their family, along with several horses.

As a child Beverly spent most of her free time in the barn playing with baby mice, chickens, dogs, and cats. As a teenager Beverly attended and graduated from the Constantine High School, where she played a trumpet and clarinet in the marching band. After graduation she obtained her driver's license and worked at a sewing shop making medical garments. She was an outstanding seamstress, could upholster and refinish furniture, take two junk bikes, and make one nice bike (she was an extremely creative individual). Continuing through her life journey she sang in the church choir, volunteered as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader, was a member of the Future Homemakers of America, served as an emergency squad member for Cardington, drove school bus for Cardington and Mt. Gilead, belonged to the Morrow County Wagon Train association, was a member of the Morrow County Historical Society, enjoyed going to garage sales, and shopping with her family. Beverly was very knowledgeable on our country's political leaders and their positions on issues. It brought her high level of joy to see those around her excel. She will be remembered for her calmness and high level of patience. A plaque on her wall states, "I Either Get What I Want Or I Change My Mind."

Proceeded in death by her husband Arden (Ardie) Naylor 1997, four siblings, and two grandchildren (Brandy 1975 and Patrick 1990). She will be greatly missed and remembered by her family.
