Betty Louise Klingel

Betty L. Klingel, age 98 of Waldo, died Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Vancrest Nursing Home of Upper Sandusky. She was born on May 12, 1925, in Marion to the late Benjamin J. and Bessie M. (Earl) Foos.

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Marion Harding High School. She was a charter member of the Timothy Lutheran Church of Marion as well as a member of the Waldo American Legion Auxiliary. In her free time, Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and freezing all types of foods. Her favorite thing to do though was to spend time with her family.

On August 21, 1945, in Greenup, Kentucky, Betty married Paul Klingel who preceded her in death on August 5, 1991.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gene) Peak of Waldo; four grandchildren: Heather Peak, Kevin (Nissa) Peak, Nathan (Nicole) Klingel and Jared Klingel; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan, Samantha, Tyler, Andruw, Gabrielle, Garrison, Ellie, and Greyson; one great-great-grandchild: Aubriela and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Michael (Teresa) Klingel, four sisters: Thelma (George) Wolfe, Mildred (Ray) Crook, Hazel (Kenneth) Owings, Elsie (Don) Leeper and two brothers: Dale (Rosemary) and Everett (Francis) Foos.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church Windfall, 5070 Newmans-Cardington Road, Cardington, Ohio 43315. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Adam Sornchai officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Waldo Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the men and women at the Vancrest Nursing home of Upper Sandusky, ProMedica Hospice (Tracey, Shay, Callie) and Sandra. We could not have asked for better care during her last several years.
