Belva Eileen (Garverick) Fissell

Belva E. Fissell, age 87 of Fulton, died on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Morrow County Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1934, to the late Loren and Clytus (Mees) Garverick.

Belva attended Johnsville High School and graduated in 1952. She had worked at Sunray Glenwood Range in Delaware for 27 years until her retirement. Belva was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and served on the Memorial Committee. She was active in the Williamsport Grange and the Republican Party and served on the Central Committee for 20 years. Belva enjoyed traveling, shopping at Kroger's, and following the Cincinnati Reds. She adored her grand dog Cooper and her former dog Scooter. The most important thing to Belva was her family and attending anything her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in.

On Oct. 3, 1953, in Indiana, Belva married Bruce Fissell and he survives her. Additional survivors include her sons; Brent (Diana) Fissell of Cincinnati and Steven Fissell of Fulton; grandchildren, Ryan Harsley and Heather (Danny) Badillo and great-grandchildren, Mason, Roman and Gianna Badillo.

In addition to her parents, Belva was preceded in death by 3 brothers Dale, Lloyd, and Cecil Garverick.

Friends may call on Tuesday Sept. 28, 2021, from 4:00 until 7:00PM at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. in Cardington. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Dennis officiating. Belva's burial will follow in the Fulton Cemetery.
