Belva M. Doty, age 97 of Cardington passed away Monday April 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on September 22, 1927, in Edison, to Charles Earl and Gladys (Fikes) Perrin.
She graduated from Johnsville High School with the class of 1947.
On March 19, 1953, she married Carlyle E. Doty. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1994.
She worked for the Cardington-Lincoln Schools for 17 ½ years as a child monitor, lunch server, and custodian.
She was a member of the Marion First Church of the Nazarene in Marion, and a member of the Crusader Sunday School class.
Surviving is her son Roy L. Doty and daughter Sheila K. Doty both of Cardington, granddaughter Brittanie Witzel, great-granddaughter Maggie Sisson, and great-great-granddaughter Willow Conkey, all of Marion. She is also survived by sister-in-law Veola Kibler of Marion, nieces Ann and Vera Perrin of Lucas, two other nieces, four nephews, two great-nephews and numerous step-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Forest Perrin, younger brother Ernest Perrin of Jacksonville, FL, brother-in-law Franklin Doty, brother-in-law Donald Doty of Marion, stepmother Clara (Smith) Perrin, two stepbrothers Walter Smith and Merle Smith, stepsister Doris Christian, and stepbrother-in-law Vern Christian.
A memorial service will be held at Marion Nazarene at a later date.
