Audrey E. Swango, age 86 of Marengo, died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1938, in Madison, Indiana to the late Clarence and Gladys (Goins) Konkle.
Audrey retired from the Flexible Company in Delaware where they manufactured buses.
Audrey enjoyed going to Seniors on Center where she knew everyone and enjoyed the music that was performed. Most important to Audrey was her family, they were her everything.
On June 6, 1953, Audrey married Alva LeRoy Swango, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1995.
Left to cherish Audrey's memory are her two children: Michael (Melodie) Swango of Galion and Teresa Swango of Cardington; grandchild. Mikila Swango (Shawn Mowry); great-grandchildren, Brandon Ruby (Hailey Coots) and Brandon (Ashlyn) Ruby; great-great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Kaylum; grandchild, Mindy Swango (Brandon) Breeze; great-grandchild, Merrick (Jackie) Hannon; great-great-grandchildren, Mateo and Sophie; great-grandchild, Makyle Swango; great-great-grandchild, Maezen Swango; great-grandchild, Mashayla Conley (Earl Harris); great-great-grandchildren, Aryah Harris and Zion Harris; great-grandchild, Maryelin Conley; step-great-grandchild, Alex Breeze; grandchild, Marc (Crystal) Swango; great-grandchild Maxton; grandchild, Michelle Collins (Rick) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Mitch Getter, Maykayla Wilson, and Rae Anna Wilson; grandchild, Kevin Collins; great-grandchild, Juniper Carpenter; grand-child Melissa Swango; great-grandchildren, Jake, Hannah and Mariah Swango; grandchild, Ryan Swango; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aubrey Swango.
In addition to her parents and husband, Audrey was preceded in death by a son, William 'Bill" Swango; brothers, Don, Kenneth, and Clarence Konkle; sisters, Velma, Mary, and Marjorie Konkle, Jane Gross, Vivian Hugeback, and Letha "Fran" Hall.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Fulton Cemetery.
