Anna Bernadine (Flaherty) Cooper

Anna B. Cooper, age 99 of Mt. Gilead, died Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Morrow Manor Nursing Home. She was born on October 1, 1919 in Van Wert to the late Brian J. and Julia (Early) Flaherty.



Anna was a 1938 graduate of Ridge High School and went on to work as a cook in the Chesterville, Fulton and Cardington schools. She had been a long-time member of the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Cardington.



In June of 1938, Anna married Carl T. Cooper and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1991.



Anna is survived by 3 children: Kathleen Cooper of Mt. Gilead, Robert (Bonnie) Cooper of Cardington, and Doit Cooper of Chesterville; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.



In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Cooper and 3 sisters: Mary Schaadt, Katherine Gies and Teresa Anderson; and 5 grandchildren.



Friends may call on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Gompf Funeral Home; 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. There will be a Rosary held at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burials will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019, at 10:00am at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church; 4680 St. Rt. 42, Cardington, Ohio 43315.
