Winifred J. Clements

Age 83, of N Main Street, Mount Gilead and formerly of Cardington, died early Thursday morning, April 20, 2006 in the Extended Care Unit of the Morrow County Hospital. She was born on February 12, 1923 in Delaware County to the late Marion and Lula (Paschel) Westbrook.

Winnie and her husband were co-owners and operators of Clements Furniture Store in Cardington. She graduated from Ashley HS and had also worked at Foodland in Cardington and as a real estate agent in Mt Gilead before retiring. Winnie was a member of the Cardington Church of the Nazarene and of the Cardington Garden Club.

On October 2, 1941 she married T. Earl Clements and he survives in Mt. Gilead.

Survivors also include 3 children and their spouses, Mark E and Mary Ann Clements of Cardington, Randall D. and Brenda Clements of Harpster, and Damon L. and Shelly Clements of Zebulon, NC; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; a sister, Janet Hartman of Dayton and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Westbrook.

Friends may call Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, April 24, 2006 at Cardington Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Darryle Moody will officiate and burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
