Virginia Lori Atherton

Virginia L. “Lori” Atherton, age 56 of Marengo passed early Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Marion General Hospital. She was born February 10, 1962 in Columbus to the late Floyd and Margretta (Adkins) Townsend.

Lori was a 1980 graduate of Highland High School. She was a music lover, who enjoyed listening to country and rock n’ roll. Lori loved shopping in her free time.

She is survived by three sisters; Jeanie Cole of Marengo, Sharon (Paul) Cole of Cardington, and Margaret Miller of Bucyrus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lori was proceeded in death by four brothers; Ronnie, Floyd, Edward, and David Townsend.

Friends may call Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Gompf Funeral Home; 440 Center St. in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:00am with Pastor Jerry Stephens officiating.
