Virgie Howard Obituary

Virgie L. Howard, age 70 of Cardington passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at home. She was born on January 12, 1948 to the late Kenneth and Margrett (England) Baldwin. Virgie was a 1966 graduate of Mount Gilead High School. She later went to work for Burcliff Industry where she worked for many years. After retiring from Burcliff she became an assistant manager at the dollar general where she remained for several years. Virgie loved nothing more than spending time with her family on their weekly Sunday dinners. She would look forward to the holidays as she would decorate the house for all of her grandkids. On June 17, 1994, Virgie married Dan Howard in Cardington, who survives in Cardington. In addition to her husband, Virgie is survived by six children; Dawn Palmer of Marion, Kenneth Higgins of Cardington, Sharon Higgins of Cardington, Nikki Snider of Cardington, Gary Howard of Springfield, and Shawn Howard of Fulton; three siblings; Bonnie Graham of Florida, Ken Baldwin of Cardington, and Harold Baldwin of Galion; 23 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held immediately following at the funeral home at 6:00 pm with Pastor Donna Ball officiating. A meal will follow immediately after the service at the American Legion in Cardington.
