Thelma May (Myers) Heacock

Thelma “Susie” M. Heacock, age 94 of Cardington, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky. She was born on July 10, 1924 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Charles Perry & Dottie May (Reinhart) Myers.

Susie was a 1942 graduate of Edison High School and had worked as a secretary for both Ohio Gas and Attorney Tom Ray. Susie also worked at U.S.D.A Labs in Delaware for several years. She had been a member at both the Bethel Church and the First United Methodist church where she served as the pianist for many years. Susie was also a member of the Mother’s Club and the United Methodist Women.

On April 20, 1951 in Mt. Gilead, Susie married Everett Warren Heacock and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1992.

Susie is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Dale) Roth of Cardington and son, Doug (Jennie) Heacock of Cardington; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Ralston of Pinole, Ca., Joe (Alli) Heacock of Columbus, Katie (Jon) Scohy of Marion, Heidi Heacock of Columbus, and Devon (Alex) Heacock of Cardington and 7 great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Susie was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Perry, Stanley & Rex and 3 sisters: Emily “Connie” Alexander, Blanche “Bootsie” Watkins and Martha Lee.

Friends may call on, August 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at Cardington First United Methodist Church, 300 South Marion St., Cardington, OH 43315.  The Celebration of Life for Susie will follow at the church at 5:00 pm.
