Sydney Lehner Kraushaar

Sydney L. Kraushaar, aged 66, died on Thursday morning, May 10, 2018 at home in Falls Church, VA, surrounded by family. She was born on April 28, 1952 in Mansfield, OH to Max E. and the late Betty Lou (Hart) Lehner. Sydney was a 1970 graduate of Upper Arlington High School in Upper Arlington, OH and earned degrees from Mary Meek School of Nursing in Abilene, TX and Saint Joseph's College of Maine. She was a registered nurse, working in infectious disease research for the majority of her career. Sydney's kindness and warmth brought great joy to family and friends. She particularly loved animals, music, gardening, visiting with her grandchildren, and holiday celebrations. Sydney was devout in her faith and active in the Catholic Church. On April 30, 1993, Sydney married Jeffrey L. Kraushaar, who preceded her in death on February 23, 2017. In addition to her father, Sydney is survived by a daughter, Lindsay Ruffini, and her husband Patrick of Falls Church, VA, granddaughters Abigail, Ella, and Madeleine, and a sister, Patricia Love, and her husband Ed, of Warren, OH. Friends may call on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where a Rosary service will take place promptly at 7:00PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Hearts Church in Cardington with Father Buffer officiating. The burial will follow in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
