Susie F. (Edgell) Dye

Freida “Susie” F. Dye, age 68 of Cardington died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at home. She was born on November 16, 1950 to the late Russell and Mary (Fowler) Edgell.



Susie was a store clerk for Goodwill. She graduated from Cardington Lincoln High School in the Class of 1969.



Susie was a member of the Cardington First United Methodist church, Wayne Grange, and Ohio Eastern Stars (Mildred Chapter). She was an Editor for the Morrow County Independent and had served on the Cardington Village Council. Susie loved Christmas and decorating for Christmas. She also loved shopping and buying things for others.



On October 21, 1966, Susie married James B. Dye in Cardington, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2007.



Susie is survived by a daughter, Connie (Dale) Sherman of Fredericktown; 3 grandchildren: Samantha (Pat) Moodispaugh of Cardington, Kristina (Wayne Glick) Sherman of Marengo and Victoria (Jeff Fretz) Sherman of Tiffin; 2 great-grandchildren; Raylan Glick and Bryson Fretz; a sister, Maxine (Dave) Packer of Mt. Gilead and 2 brothers, Jack (Jane) Edgell of Cardington and Robert (Jeannie) Edgell of Delaware.



In addition to her husband and parents, Susie was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ellis.



Friends may call on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Darryle Moody officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery.
