Steven Maceyko Obituary

Steven J. "Hub" Maceyko, Jr., age 84, a lifelong resident of Cardington died Friday Morning, March 9, 2018 at home. He was born on July 31, 1933 to the late Steven and Ruby "Pearl" (Krepps) Maceyko, Sr. Steven was the owner of Jeri-Ann Drive In & Rainbow 7 for 42 years. He graduated from Cardington High School in the Class of 1951. Steven served in the United States Army from September 24, 1953 to August 25, 1955. He was a member of the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Steven loved to tell stories, travel, to be with family, and loved life. He always had a smile and had a great sense of humor. On August 31, 1959, Steven married Linda Baer at the St. Margarets Catholic Church in Bel Air, Maryland and she survives in Cardington. In addition to his wife, Steven is survived by four daughters: Lori Rizor of Washington D.C., Deidre (Dan) Beck of Westland, MI, Christine (Don Jr.) Covert of Mansfield, and Julie Maceyko of Charlotte, NC; two sons: Monty (Steph) Maceyko of Cardington and John (Kelly McHarg) Maceyko of Powell; 11 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Josh, and Nicholas Beck, Zak and Luke Covert, Kayleigh and Myles McGhee, Quinn and Kennedy Maceyko, Ethan Knight and Seneca Maceyko, and one great-grandchild, Uriah Griffith. In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by all of his siblings: James Grady, Patricia Foltz, John Grady, Gilbert Grady, Melvin Maceyko, Jeri Fasig and Tom Maceyko. Friends may call on Monday Evening, March 12, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Rosary following at 8:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. A Mass of Christian Burials will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, 4680 US Highway 42, Cardington OH 43315 at 10:00 am. Following the service the burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
