Sharon Klott Obituary

Age 54, of East High Street, Mt. Gilead, died Sunday March 19, 2006 at her home. She was born on July 9, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Henry and Sylvia (Willoughby) Klott.

Sherry was a 1969 graduate of South High School in Columbus and attended The Ohio State University. Sherry was the most loved bus driver at COTA where she retired after 20 plus years of service. She worked at Whetstone Industries and was a volunteer for the Morrow County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Sherry was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. She was a member of the Hospice of Morrow County Board where she served as treasurer. Sherry volunteered for AARP as a tax representative for the disabled and elderly and was the AARP district representative for Marion, Morrow and Knox counties. She was president of The Village Nuts, a collectors club for Department 56 village houses whose main charity was the Ronald McDonald House where they set up displays at Christmas.

Sherry is survived by her loving partner, Margaret “Maggie” Clark of Mt. Gilead; her partner’s daughter, Marilynn and Edward Brown and grandson, Macray “Mac” Brown all of Marion; a sister, Pamela and Roger Burns of Columbus; a niece, Christina Marie Burns; a nephew, Todd and Amy Burns; 2 great nieces, Taylor and Casey Burns and numerous aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 S. Center St., Cardington on Wednesday March 22, 2006 from 4:30 to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be held on Thursday evening, March 23, 2006 at 5:30PM at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. Pastor J. Weston Jones will officiate.
