Age 44, of Mt. Gilead passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2006 after a courageous fight against Cancer. He was born July 24, 1961 in Iaeger, WV the son of the late Robert H. Ferrell and Zelma Ferrell who survives in Cardington.
Robert resided in Sparta and graduated from Highland High School with the class of 1979. He graduated from Ohio Diesel Tech in Cleveland in 1980. Until the time of his diagnosis, he was employed by Tower Automotive in Upper Sandusky as a Robotic Tech. He enjoyed Crum’s Mud Run, Michigan football and collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. He also loved shopping at Wal-Mart. In the past he belonged to the Classic Chassis Car Club.
Other survivors include his fianc??e, Maureen Graham of Mt. Gilead, sisters and brother-in-laws, Nelva and Randy Fox of Cardington, Nancy and Jerry Sargent of Chesterville, and Jannie and Gary Milburn of Sunbury, a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Ray and Carla Sammons of Fortuna, CA, stepbrothers and stepsisters, Larry Ferrell, Barbara Luke and Marilyn Cornwell; his fianc??e’s family, Marsha and Jim Ames of Mt. Gilead, Melanie and Rob Snyder of Edison, Maurice, Jr. and Tammy Graham, Matthew and Robyn Graham, and Monica and Gary Waugh all of Mt. Gilead; Nancy Graham, mother of Maureen; many nieces and nephews, who were all much loved by their beloved Uncle Jr.,; aunts, uncles, cousins and Goddaughter, Jacqueline Watts. He also is survived by his beloved mutt, Rocky Balboa.
He was helped in his battle with Cancer by Dr. Thomas Olencki and his wonderful staff at OSU James Cancer Center on Kenny Road.
In addition to his father, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Belinda Joyce Sammons and great-niece, Jaizlyn Juliavanna Muscari.
Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM where funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Reverend John Jackson will officiate and burial will be in Marengo Cemetery.
