Kathryn Tereasa (McGowan) Denton

Kathryn T. Denton, age 98 of Cardington, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the Woodside Village. She was born on February 27, 1921 in Benson, MN to the late Hugh & Lavina (Albee) McGowan.



Kathryn was a 1939 graduate of high school in Minnesota and later received her bachelor’s degree in education from the Ohio University in 1968. She was a long-time member of Sacred Hearts. Kathryn had been a teacher for 31 years, teaching in both the River Valley and Cardington Lincoln school districts. She was a long-time member of the Morrow County Teachers Association.



On June 4, 1943 in Little Falls, MN, Kathryn married Richard F. Denton and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2008.



Kathryn is survived by her 4 children: Marsha Rees of GA, Donnie Denton of Cardington, Ruthann Denton of Morral and Robert Denton of Cardington; sister: Agness Dallman of Mystic, Conn, and; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.



In addition to her parents, Kathryn was proceeded in death by two brothers; Donald and Robert McGowan.



Friends may call on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Gompf Funeral Home; 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. A Mass of Christian Burials will be held Friday, August 30 at 10:00am at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church; 4680 U S Rt. 42, Cardington, Ohio 43315.
