Granville Blanton Obituary

Granville R. Blanton, age 60 of Mt. Gilead, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Sparta. He was born on December 6, 1958, in Harlan County, KY to the late Samuel and Wilma J. (Wynn) Blanton.

Granville was a free-lance mechanic for most of his life and could always be found working on different vehicles which he loved to do. He would never pass up a cold beer but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Left to cherish Granville’s memory are his 2 daughters: Jamie Blanton-Smith of Fredericktown and Jodi Blanton of Mt. Gilead; 2 siblings: Deloris Ann Bigelow and Samuel D. Blanton and 6 grandchildren: Shyanne Taylor, Lester Allen Keen, Shonda Taylor, Jayden Rain Smith, Caleb Blanton and Payton Cunningham.

In accordance with Granville’s wishes no services will be held.
