Franklin D. Joan Sr., age 86 of Cardington died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Woodside Village, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 16, 1932 in Medina, Ohio to the late Albert and Francis (Chase) Joan.

Poppy was happiest at home working on a project. Be it his house, a tractor or camper. He was a jack of all trades and if he couldn’t figure it out, he kept at it until he did; he never gave up. His favorite thing was sitting on his swing with a cold Mount Dew, visiting with his loved ones. He loved his tractors and going to tractor shows, enjoying the engines of yesteryear. He loved finding treasures at Thrift Stores and Flea Markets. Above all he loved lending a helping hand to others.
Frank is survived by seven children; Sandra Shouler of Michigan, Joe (Melissa) Joan of Mount Gilead, Carol Joan of Mount Gilead, Glen Joan of Mount Gilead, Deborah Joan of Cardington, Frank Joan Jr. of Pataskala, and Wendell Joan of Columbus; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
