Esther Rengert Obituary

Age 84, of Cardington Road, Cardington died Tuesday March 28, 2006 at the Marion General Hospital. She was born July 7, 1921 in Richland Township, Marion County to the late Henry Frederick and Minnie Caroline (Kraner) Heimlich.

A homemaker, Esther was a 1939 graduate of Waldo High School. She was a member of the St John “Windfall” Lutheran Church where she was active in the church choir, a member of the Piecemakers Group and of the Women of the ELCA. Esther was also involved in many community activities.

On September 8, 1940 she married Curtis George Rengert and he survives in Cardington.

Survivors also include four children and their spouses, Patricia E McCorkle of Columbus, Ann L. and Dean Bollinger of Marion, Daniel C. and Marilyn Rengert of Waldo and Peggy S. Rittler of Cardington; 8 grandchildren, Angela and Bill Strauch, Don and Laura Rengert, Catherine and Jeff Shapiro, Mark and Melissa Bollinger, Molly and Ben Rule, Zachary, Heath and Nickenzie Rittler; and 8 great-grandchildren, Daniel and Faith Strauch, Courtney and Wesley Rengert, Joshua and Andrew Shapiro and Bryce and Carson Bollinger.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home on Sunday, April 2, 2006 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be conducted at Saint John Lutheran Church, on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 11:00AM. Pastor Donald Pletcher will officiate and burial will follow in the Windfall Church Cemetery.
