Esther Caroline Catherine Cobourn

Esther Cobourn, age 101, a resident of the Windfall Community near Cardington died on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her home. She was born on January 1, 1917 to the late Gottlob and Imo (Axthelm) Ackerman. She was made a child of God through holy baptism on February 13, 1917 and remained a life long member of St John Lutheran Church Windfall. Esther graduated from Cardington High School with the Class of 1935. She was a member of St.John's WELCA and Piecemakers. Esther served on the Library Committee and was for many years a Sunday School teacher. On October 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to William Cobourn who preceded her in death on February 19,1990. Her survivors include her daughter Marlene (Howard) Radel and her son Mark Cobourn both of Cardington, 3 grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Radel, Jeff Radel, and Missy (John) DeForest, 4 great-grandchildren: Justin, Austin, Vanessa and Natalie Radel. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Carl Ackerman and Kenneth (Shirley) Ackerman both of Cardington. A brother Robert is deceased. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at St. John's Windfall Lutheran Church. The Memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm. at the church with Pastor Adam Sornchai officiating. The burial will take place at the Windfall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to World Hunger or the Piecemakers of St. John Lutheran Church, 5070 Newmans-Cardington Road, Cardington, OH 43315 or Kindred hospice, 1199 Delaware Ave., Marion, OH 43302.
