Doris Ellen Stanforth

Doris E. Stanforth, age 85 of Cardington died April 18, 2018 at the Marion General Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1932 in Cardington to the late Floyd and Flora (Heimleich) Osburn. Doris was a 1950 graduate of Cardington Lincoln High School. She loved cuddling up with her cats and reading a good book. She was a member and donated regularly to the A.S.P.C.A. On Sundays you could find Doris singing in the church choir and on Mondays you could find her teaching her Bible study. Doris enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls and baptismal napkins for the church. On August 14, 1960 in Marion, Doris married George F. Stanforth and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1997. She is survived by 2 sons: David Stanforth of Marion and Michael (Nancy) Stanforth of Columbus; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband and her parents; Doris was preceded in death by her grandmother Daisy Downing who helped raise Doris; two brothers Kenneth and Gerald Osburn. Friends and Family may call on Sunday April 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Gompf Funeral Service; 440 Center St. Cardington, OH 43315. The funeral service will be held Monday April 23, 2018 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating; burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
