Donald J. Powell, age 57 of Cardington died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Morrow County Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1961 to the late William Lloyd Powell and Lisa (Rousseau) Powell of Fulton.
Don was a graduate of Highland High School and was self-employed. He owned and operated Don Powell Trucking LLC. Don was a member of the VFW Post # 8054.
Don enjoyed riding his Harley and had restored his 1971 Grand Prix. Don and Paula owned 7 horses and used them to “Team Pen”. He had won numerous awards in competitions. Don loved animals and enjoyed family and friends. He was also an avid guitar player and loved to sing along while he played.
Don married Paula Taylor on August 10, 2002 at the Edison Enterprise Church.
She survives in Cardington.
In addition to his wife and mother, Don is survived by his children: Carrie (Jeremy) Stalling and Benjamin Muncy both of Newark and Jenee Webb (Nate Wilt) of Mt. Gilead; brother, Sam Powell of Fulton and sister, Lisette (Ira) Altizer of Centerburg.
Friends may call on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Following the service the burial will take place in the Fulton Cemetery.
