Cheryl Nye Obituary

Cheryl J. Nye, age 63 of County Road 134, Cardington died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at her residence. Cheryl had fought a 15 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Columbus on May 21, 1945 to the late Joseph and Mary (Wein) Archer.

Cheryl was a graduate of The Ohio State University. She was a teacher and had taught from kindergarten to Adult Education. Cheryl was a member of the Morrow County Retired Teachers Association and of the St. John (Windfall) Lutheran Church.

Cheryl was a loving wife and mother and adored her grandchildren. She had a generous spirit that will live on in those she leaves behind.

On December 27, 1969 she married Thomas A. Nye and he survives in Cardington.

Survivors also include a son, Ian Austin Nye of Columbus; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Todd Ramming of Columbus; two grandchildren, Dorian Gore and William Ramming and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Florence Archer of Lathum, NY.

In addition to her parents Cheryl was preceded in death by a brother, James B. Archer.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00AM at St John (Windfall) Lutheran Church, 5070 Newman-Cardington Road East, Cardington with Pastor Donald Pletcher officiating.
