Vera M. Hinkle, age 69 of Cardington died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1948 to the late Frank and Edgar Alice (Moore) McNew.
Vera graduated from Sparrow Point High School in 1966. She worked for the Veterans Administration for 5 years as an office assistant. She ordered medical supplies for the Veterans.
Marie loved reading, watching movies, playing games on Facebook and spending time with her family. She was a kind, loving, and generous soul. Marie gave to many children's charities, veterans, Native Americans, local food pantries and toy drives.
On February 27, 1970, Vera married Samuel Hinkle in Baltimore, Maryland. He preceded her in death.
Vera is survived by a son, Randy (Kelli) Hinkle of Cardington and a daughter, Dawn Hinkle of Mt. Gilead; a sister, Phyllis Helton of Virginia; 6 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by her siblings; Junior, Jimmy, Earl, John, Fletcher, and Ernie McNew.
A private family service will be held with Pastor Paul Turner of the Cardington First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fargo Cemetery.
May she rest in peace and be whole again. May all her love that she gave and made, lift her up and always shine so bright. We pray for all the beauty she shared to be reflected unto this world.
