Robert (Bob) M. Hoelscher, age 65 of Mt. Gilead died November 8, 2017 in Peoria, AZ. He was born on October 1, 1952 in Dayton, OH to the late Robert and Ruby (Coffman) Hoelscher.

Bob worked for the Kroger Distribution Warehouse for 37 years. He was a 1970 graduate of Big Walnut High School.

Bob coached softball for all ages, collected baseball cards, and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of FFA and Ducks Unlimited. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and friends. Everyone will miss his jokes and the way he could tell a story no matter if it was the first or 10th time they heard it. Over the years Bob had touched many girls hearts through the game he loved-softball. To this day there are still many girls who look up to "Coach Bob" as he taught them many lessons in life beyond how to play the game. Bob's faith was very important to him. He always felt closest to God in nature and he loved nature. He had aspirations to re-read the entire Bible from cover to cover. Bob was well known for his positive attitude even after being diagnosed with colon cancer; he kept his head up and he continued inspiring others and touching the lives of the people he came in contact with.

On April 5, 1986 Bob married his soul mate Donna Dunckley in Reynoldsburg, OH who survives in Mt. Gilead, OH.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two daughters, Katie Hoelscher of Mt. Gilead and Lisa Hoelscher-Blasing of Canal Winchester, OH; a granddaughter, Haley Blasing; two brothers: James (Marsha) Hoelscher of Houston, TX and William (Miriam) Hoelscher of Lajas, Puerto Rico; two sisters: Barbara (Robert) Kenney of Marengo, OH and Mary Lou (Harvey) Yoder of Lexington, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, OH. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm.
