Lowell C. "Junior" Brandum Jr., age 66 of Cardington passed away doing what he loved most, farming, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. He was born August 16, 1951 to L. Clayton Brandum Sr. who survives in Cardington and the late Thelma (Ruggles) Brandum.

Junior was a lifelong farmer, farming for the Ruggles at Homestead Acres and Wallace Beckel Farms. He also worked with his father, Clayton and brother, Robert for Brandum Construction. He was in the Air National Guard. Junior was a 1969 graduated from Cardington High School.

Junior was a member of the Morrow County Cattleman Association which he had been a past president of and the FFA Alumni Association. He was a 4-H advisor for many years. Junior enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, truck pulling, raising cattle and spending time with his grandkids.

On June 4, 1977, Junior married Betty Shipman in Cardington and she survives in Cardington.

In addition to his wife and father, Junior is survived by his children, Robin Brandum and Jeremy (Amanda) Brandum both of Cardington; a brother, Robert "Doc" (Karolyn) Brandum of Cardington; a sister, Cathy Hayes of Fredericktown; 2 grandchildren, Preston and Aubrey; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Junior was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Ellis.

Friends may call on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the funeral home at 10:30 am with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating. Following the service the burial will take place in the Fulton Cemetery.
