Karen S. Williamson, age 69 of Marengo, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1948 in Fostoria to the late George L. & Lillian A. (LaFontaine) Waltermyer.
Karen was a 1966 graduate of Fostoria High School and went on to work as a loan processor for most of her life.
On August 21, 1981 Karen married Alvin L. Williamson and he preceded her in death.
Karen enjoyed playing cards, and shopping with her best friend Shirley at the 'Bent N Dent'. She loved bowling and was a 200 average bowler. Karen also loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Karen was known for her generosity and was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Those who knew Karen, knew she was a very positive person who could always be found with a smile on her face.
Karen is survived by two children: daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Goers of Cardington and son, Dr. Vincent (Pauletta) Lyons of Wisconsin and; two sisters: Cheryl Waltermyer of Franklin Furnace and Lori (Stacy) Frost of Marengo; seven grandchildren: Alexis, Mason, Luke, Sophia, Vincenzo, Joshua, Cecilia; a nephew, Blake; a niece Hanna, and her best friend of 19 years Shirley Collier.
In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Michael and Dennis Waltermyer.
Friends may call on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00am to 1:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held immediately following with son Dr. Vincent Lyons officiating.
